Dirham (Silver, 26 mm, 2.00 g, 5 h), type B, struck by Sayf al-Din Abu Bakr ibn Yusuf (AH 627-631 / AD 1229-1233), AH 631 = 1233/4. Citing the ʿAbbasid caliph al-Mustansir billah (AH 623-640 / AD 1226-1242) in a circle looped thrice into the margin, ‘lā ilāha illā Allāh / Muḥammad rasūl / Allāh al-imām Abū / Jaʿfar’ (‘There is no deity but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Imam Abu Jaʿfar’ in Arabic); continued in the margin, ‘al-Mustanṣir billāh amīr al-muʾminīn’ (‘al-Mustansir billah, Commander of the Believers’ in Arabic). Rev. Citing the Ayyubid al-Kamil Abu’l-Maʿali Muhammad (AH 615-635 / AD 1218-1238) as his overlord in a circle looped thrice into the margin, ‘al-malik al-Kāmil Abu/’l-Maʿālī Muḥammad al-malik / al-ʿādil Sayf al-D/īn Abū Bakr’ (‘King al-Kamil Abu’l-Maʿali Muhammad, the just king Sayf al-Din Abu Bakr’ in Arabic); blundered date formula in the margin.
